Whether you need a resident, visitor, business, or trader permit, applying through RingGo is the quickest way to get sorted. The entire application process is straightforward and can be completed online in just a few steps.
Here is exactly how to get started:
Step-by-step guide
Log in and navigate: Go to the RingGo website and log into your account. Click Permits at the top of your screen.
Find your local area: Select your specific council or local authority from the list, then select the exact type of permit you want to apply for.
Fill out your details: Complete the online application form with your information.
Upload your documents: Depending on your permit type, upload any required supporting documents (such as a recent utility bill for proof of residency or your vehicle registration document).
Await council approval: Your local council will review your application and documents to make the final decision. RingGo doesn't manage approvals, but we will let you know the moment they give you the green light!
Pay on the website: Once approved, simply log back into your account and complete your payment right here on the website to activate your permit.
💡 Good to know
Most permits are virtual: In the vast majority of council areas, permits are 100% digital. You won't need to display a physical pass in your car, as enforcement officers can instantly verify your permit using your vehicle registration number. Note: A handful of locations still require physical passes—if your council is one of them, they will let you know during the application.
Speed up your application: Have your digital proof documents ready before you start to make the application process as fast as possible.
Keep an eye on expiration: Permits are valid for a set period of time, so remember to note the expiry date so you can renew on time.
