We know it’s frustrating to get a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) when you’ve already paid, especially if it was just a simple slip-up like choosing the wrong vehicle or location. While we can’t cancel the fine for you, we can certainly help you build the strongest case for your appeal.
How to appeal your PCN
If you made an honest mistake on your booking, follow these steps to reach out to the parking operator:
Explain what happened: When you submit your appeal, be clear and direct. Explain the specific error (e.g., "I selected my old car's registration by mistake").
Provide your proof of payment: Attach your RingGo VAT receipt. This shows the operator that you had every intention of paying and that the correct fee was settled, even if a detail was wrong.
Submit promptly: Most operators offer a discount if you pay or appeal within the first 14 days, so it’s best to act quickly.
Things to keep in mind
The Decision-Makers: Each parking operator (usually the local council or a private firm) is responsible for their own appeals. Because of this, RingGo cannot cancel a PCN or influence the final decision. * We're on your team: We provide the tools to make parking easy, and while we don't control the fines, we're here to ensure you have the payment records you need to succeed in your appeal.
