I Forgot to Pay or Paid Late for Parking
We’ve all been there—life gets busy and sometimes parking is the last thing on your mind. If you’ve missed your payment window or realized you paid after you already parked, here is the best way to handle it.
Can I pay after I've left?
In some locations across the UK, you may have the option to make a "retrospective" or late payment.
Check the App: If this feature is available for your specific location, the option will appear automatically in the RingGo app or on our website when you try to pay.
Why can't I see it? If you don’t see an option for late payment, it simply means the parking operator for that area doesn’t allow it. Every area has different rules, and we have to follow the local operator’s policy.
What to do if you receive a PCN
If a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) is issued to your vehicle or arrives in the post, please keep the following in mind:
Check the Details: Carefully review the time and date on the PCN. If the ticket shows a time or date that doesn't match when you were actually parked, or if you believe any of the details are incorrect, you should follow the appeal instructions provided on the notice.
The Appeals Process: Because RingGo is an automated payment service, we cannot cancel a PCN or change the time/day of a booking once it has been made. To challenge a fine, you must follow the official appeal steps printed on your PCN.
Providing Evidence: When you submit your appeal, we recommend including your RingGo VAT receipt. This provides a clear digital record that you had a valid payment (or attempted one), which can help the enforcement authority review your case.
