Getting a parking fine (also known as a Penalty Charge Notice or PCN) is never fun, but don't worry—we’re here to help you navigate the next steps. While RingGo doesn't issue these fines, we can provide the documentation you need to make your appeal as smooth as possible.
Why did I receive a fine?
The specific reason will always be listed on the physical notice attached to your vehicle or sent in the post. Common reasons include:
Typo in the plate: Entering the wrong vehicle registration.
Location mix-up: Selecting the wrong parking zone code.
Expired time: Staying longer than your paid session.
Restricted areas: Parking in a disabled bay (without a badge) or a permit-only zone.
No valid session: Forgetting to start your session or failing to pay.
Your step-by-step resolution guide
If you believe a mistake was made, you have the right to appeal. Follow these steps to get it sorted:
Grab your receipt: Download your parking receipt from our app. Even if you accidentally paid for the wrong car or zone, showing that you intended to pay is vital evidence for your appeal.
Check the back of the PCN: Flip the fine over. It will contain specific instructions on how to contact the local council or parking authority.
Submit your appeal directly: You must contact the issuing authority yourself. Because we are the payment provider, we cannot cancel fines or influence the authority’s decision, but your receipt is your best tool for success!
